About RNDGen

A free generator of test data and passwords, made by developers for developers and QA.

What RNDGen is

RNDGen makes realistic fake data for testing, demos and database seeding, and strong passwords in bulk. You pick fields from more than 240 types, or describe the data in words, and download a file in CSV, Excel, JSON, SQL, XML or another format. With an account you can keep schemas in a workspace, generate related tables, use AI to design a schema, and serve the data as a mock REST API.

How it started

RNDGen began as an internal tool at Web Design Sun, a web design and development agency. Our developers and QA engineers needed test data and passwords every day, so we built a generator for ourselves and in 2023 made it free for everyone. The password generator came first, the data generator soon after. In January 2025 a second version added accounts and plans, and in November 2026 the whole tool was rebuilt to generate data in the browser. The full story is inWhat's new.

What we believe

  • Test data should never be real data. Copying production records into test systems is how personal data leaks. Generated data looks real and belongs to nobody.
  • Your data stays with you. Files and passwords are generated on your device and never uploaded. We store only what you ask us to keep, like saved schemas and mock APIs.
  • Free where it costs us little. The generator runs in your browser, so it is free without an account. Paid plans cover what costs money to run, AI and hosted mock APIs, and add bigger files, all languages and templates, and team features.
  • Repeatable beats random. A seed and a reference date give the same dataset on any day, so tests stay stable.

Who is behind it

RNDGen is designed and built by Web Design Sun, which also builds web products, SaaS and internal tools for its clients. The service is operated by IIG Global OÜ, Tartu mnt 67/1-13b, 10115 Tallinn, Estonia, which is the company you have an agreement with when you use RNDGen (see the Terms and thePrivacy Policy).
