Random CSV files for testing and imports

Pick fields, set how many rows you need and download a CSV file. RNDGen builds every row in your browser from more than 240 field types: people, addresses, companies, products, prices, dates, UUIDs, IBANs, test card numbers and edge-case strings.

Made for real imports

  • Any dialect of CSV. Comma, semicolon, tab or pipe; double or single quotes; doubled or backslash escaping; LF or CRLF.
  • Values that agree. The email comes from the name, the age from the birthdate, the ZIP code from the state.
  • Blanks on purpose. Set a share of empty values per column to test how your import handles missing data.
  • The same file again. A seed and a reference date make the output identical on any day, which keeps test fixtures stable.

Typical uses

Seeding a database with COPY or LOAD DATA, testing CSV upload forms and ETL pipelines, filling a spreadsheet for a demo, or checking how a parser copes with quotes, commas and Unicode inside values. For other formats see theJSON, SQL and Excel generators, or start from one of the templates.

FAQ

How many rows can a CSV file have?

Up to 100,000 rows without an account, 1,000,000 on a free account and 5,000,000 on Pro and Team. Files are written as a stream in your browser, so large files do not freeze the page.

Can I use a semicolon or tab instead of a comma?

Yes. Choose comma, semicolon, tab or pipe as the delimiter, double or single quotes, doubled or backslash escaping, and LF or CRLF line endings. The header row can be turned off.

Will Excel open the CSV correctly?

Yes. For Excel in regions that use a comma as the decimal separator, pick the semicolon delimiter. If you need a real spreadsheet, download Excel (.xlsx) instead.

What about several related tables?

With related tables (free account) you get a zip with one CSV file per table. Child rows point to ids that exist in the parent file, so foreign keys hold after import.

Is the data real?

No. Every value is generated. Names, emails and addresses look realistic and agree with each other within a row, but they belong to nobody.
