Web Design Sun began building a test data generator for its own projects. The first commit is dated 28 October 2022.
RNDGen began as an internal tool at Web Design Sun, a web development agency. Our developers and QA engineers needed realistic test data every day, and writing it by hand or copying it between projects took time that should have gone into the product.
So on 28 October 2022 we started building a generator for ourselves: pick the fields, choose how many rows, download a file.
The first feature that shaped the tool came a week later: a field editor with drag and drop.
